Tony is a General Practitioner and is a Lecturer in the Department of General Practice in University College Cork. He is a GP Trainer and is Convener of the clinical skills exam of the Irish College of General Practitioners. His interests include dementia care in the community and interprofessional education. He has led the development of a range of dementia educational resources, including an e-learning programme, a blended learning course and interdisciplinary workshops for GPs and allied healthcare professionals (www.dementiapathways.ie). He was a member of the working group for Ireland’s National Dementia Strategy. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Panel of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland and the National Dementia Strategy Programme Implementation Board. Tony’s MD thesis focused on the design, development and evaluation of an educational intervention to improve the quality of dementia care in General Practice.
