Gina Bravo holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Sherbrook (UofS), and postdoctoral training in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University. Full Professor at the Department of Community Health Sciences, UofS, she is the Scientific Director of the Research Centre on Aging. Dr. Bravo’s research activities focus on health policy and the quality of care delivered to older adults, including at the end of their lives. With funding from CIHR, she recently completed a 5-year trial on advance planning for health care and research among older adults and their designated surrogates. Dr. Bravo currently holds a Partnership Development Grant from SSHRC for a study aimed at meeting the challenge of offering high-quality collective dwellings to low-income frail older adults, and a second grant from the Alzheimer Society of Canada for a nationwide study of the attitudes of informal caregivers toward medical assistance in dying for patients with dementia.
