Christine trained as a nurse in 1973. For the last 22 years, she worked in palliative care before retiring in 2017. She has since been very involved with supporting and teaching carers about dementia. Christine’s daughter was diagnosed with behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia (BvFTD) in 2012 aged 37 and she died 5 years later. Christine has since written and published a book about her experience.
Christine’s professional and personal involvement in dementia and palliative care are her motivations for joining the Strategic Guiding Council. She has seen the good and the bad in dementia care and has a passion to help improve services to make the best care available to everyone.
