Michela Luciani is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Nursing at the Department of Public Health and Paediatrics at the University of Turin. Michela also works with the School of Nursing of the University of Milano-Bicocca on the topic of Self-care in Diabetes, where she teaches as adjunct professor in Qualitative Research Methodologies at the Master of Science in Nursing and Midwifery. Clinically, she has worked as a Clinical Research Nurse in a Trial Center with a focus on people with onco-hematological malignancies, but also with neurological and gastroenterological diseases. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Science and Public Health in 2019, with a thesis on Self-care in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. During her PhD, she spent three months as a Visiting PhD Student at McMaster University (Ontario, Canada) and she completed a Qualitative Research Method course at Oxford University (UK). She has published in national and international journals, mainly on Self-care in Diabetes and Qualitative Health Research Methodologies, and she is a reviewer for national and international journals. Michela is a member of the Italian Society of Nursing Science (SISI) and is part of the SISI’s Adjunct Professors Committee.
