Paola Di Giulio is an Associate Professor at the University of Turin from 2001. She was a Professor at the Professional University of Italian Switzerland (SUPSI) from 2009 to 2019.
She got her Diploma of Master of Science – Advanced Clinical Practice, at Guildford University, Surrey, England, in 1979. She was also a Lecturer (from 2007) and responsible of Cure area of the Research Unit of the DSAN (from 2008 to 2013) at SUPSI. Moreover, she was responsible for the Nursing Research Unit of the Mario Negri Pharmacological Research Institute from 1996 to 2016 and senior researcher of the Cardiovascular Research Department of the same institute until 2016. From 2019 she is a member of the Italian Consiglio Superiore di Sanità as vice-president. She coordinated several multicenter research project at the national level, and her main research area is terminal dementia care in nursing homes. Since 2019 she is a member of the EAPC task force for Advance Care Planning in dementia. She is a member of the editorial board of Assistenza Infermieristica e Ricerca (former Rivista dell’infermiere) from 1982 and coordinator from 1999. Also, she is the scientific responsible for long-distance learning for nurses (SAEPE) from 2010. Lastly, from 2010 she is a member of the Advisory Board of Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (ABREOC), Canton Ticino, Switzerland. She has authored more than 200 publications in national and international journals with an H-index Scopus of 12.
