Mary is a retired State Registered Nurse. Mary attended Hull University in Yorkshire where she completed the Health Visitor Course. Mary was a Health Visitor for 26 years, where she specialised in post-natal depression. During Mary’s career, she used her expertise to teach her peer colleagues, wrote a book and counselled mothers with post-natal depression.

Mary has over 20 years of experience as a family carer to people living with dementia as her husband, mother and close friends all were diagnosed with dementia. Mary’s beloved husband had a traumatic and terrible death in spite of the entire family fighting for palliative care for him. Contributing to long-term care and end-of-life care research is Mary’s passion, motivation and memorial to her late husband.
